Getting to the Sunshine Coast

Our wedding venue and accommodation are on the Sunshine Coast, which is about a two-hour trip from Vancouver. It’s approximately a 30-minute drive to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, a 45-minute ferry, then another 30-minute drive to Sechelt.

Pre-booking ferries is highly recommended. Even if you don’t know your exact timings, it’s easier to trade for a ferry time through this Facebook group versus trying to find one later this year or going without a booking.

The route you are looking for is from Horseshoe Bay to Langford. Bookings are made per car, so make your carpooling arrangements and make sure you get your booking in soon!

If you’re not planning on coming for Welcome Drinks on Friday, please be aware that the Vancouver Gran Fondo is on Saturday, September 7th and may effect your trip to the ferry from Vancouver.

The Oceanside

We have organized a hotel block at a preferred rate for our guests with the Oceanside Hotel in Davis Bay (near Sechelt). Accommodation options can be limited near our venue and we will be using this hotel as our home base for all shuttle services. It will be a ton of fun to have us all in one area and to enjoy the waterfront together (every room gets an ocean view), but there is no pressure if you’d prefer a different accommodation option. Try to be as close to the venue or hotel as you can as cab service is quite limited on the Sunshine Coast.

Bookings through our wedding need to be made by March 10th, 2024. Beyond this date, accommodation bookings will be up to your discretion.

Transportation

To ensure efficiency and safety on the wedding day, we will be providing shuttle services to the ceremony during the afternoon and a return shuttle back to the hotel in the evening. 

While taxis and ridesharing services do technically exist on the Sunshine Coast, they are limited and not as dependable as they are in the city. To get to Sechelt or your preferred accommodation, we recommend carpooling with the other guests.

      If you’d like to partake in some sober fun on the wedding day, there is plenty of free street parking surrounding the venue.
